Kaveh Montazer
Finance Major
Public Leadership
I am Kaveh Montazer and I am from Reisterstown, Maryland. I am a sophomore at the University of Maryland and I am majoring in Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. I love sports, nature and being a Maryland Terrapin! My parents both went to the University of Illinois and both of my sisters went to the University of Maryland, so my entire family is a part of the Big Ten.

Upon starting my time at the University of Maryland, I decided the to pick the Public Leadership scholars program because leadership is a skill I feel like I needed to improve. I was hoping to get a few things out of this course. First, I wanted to obtain leadership skills that could help me through both educational and professional avenues. Through course readings and activities like the grants we gave out in the spring, I was able to learn and apply specific leadership strategies and techniques. What was an added bonus was the living learning aspect of this program. By living with peers that I shared a program with, I had to the opportunity to make many friends who shared interests with me. Being in the business and specifically, finance field, developing strong leadership skills will undoubtedly have a noticeable impact on my success.
